[Washington DC] — We are pleased to announce the promotions of three staff members whose expertise and leadership continue to advance the organization’s mission. 

Effective May 1, 2026, Zuha Shaikh, Lidiya Kassahun, and Max Toth assumed new roles that reflect their significant contributions and growing impact.

Zuha Shaikh has been promoted from Senior Specialist, Market & Policy Innovation to Deputy Director, Market Innovation. Zuha will help accelerate the adoption and scale of inclusive utility investments and other inclusive financial solutions for distributed clean energy and virtual power plants. These include energy efficiency appliances as well as demand response technologies, including but not limited to battery storage, electric vehicles and EV chargers. 

Lidiya Kassahun has been promoted from Senior Associate, Transportation Decarbonization to Specialist, Grid Edge Solutions. Lidiya will work to accelerate inclusive financial solutions to access clean energy upgrades, especially grid-interactive resources, including electric vehicles (EVs) and chargers and other dispatchable distributed energy resources (DERs). 

Max Toth has been promoted from Deputy Director, Strategic Impact to Director, Strategic Impact. He will be responsible for overseeing and guiding efforts to expand inclusive financial solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from buildings through energy efficiency, demand response, onsite solar, energy storage, grid flexibility, and other strategies to achieve full electrification of buildings.
